  • Band Room doors will be closed and locked between 3:00-5:00pm. No students are to be in the building between those times.

  • The students need to wear their Member Shirts, Athletic Shorts and LONG BLACK SOCKS and be seated in the band room ready to warm up by 6:00pm.

Please be sure your child has a flip folder for the football game Friday night. These are available at Lane Music, Amro Music, and on Amazon.

On Saturday, we will be competing at the Liberty Bowl in the Bandmasters Championship. Please plan to arrive at the band room at 2:15pm. See the attached flier for the complete competition details.


PARKING LOT! The semi truck and U-Haul will be the only vehicles in the back circle drive.


The Band will host the second Car Wash of the year on Saturday November 5, 2022.

Please check with your band and color guard students about Car Wash Tickets for Saturday November 5th. We will have the same locations as the last Car Wash:

  • Lane Music (Woodwinds)

  • Paragon Bank (Percussion and Color Guard)

  • Buffalo Wild Wings Wolfchase (Brass).

Everyone will arrive by 9:45-10 AM at the latest. We will only be washing cars from 10-12.

Please do your part to try to sell all of your tickets and get your money turned in by Friday November 4th to Woody. The money raised through fundraising pays for transportation for the band, guard equipment, sheet music, props, equipment repairs, etc. All of the funds raised are used to make the band program better and to ensure that your students have the best possible experience.

If you missed getting your tickets, please get with the band directors ASAP.

We also need a few more adult volunteers to help with the three different locations. Please contact Amy Burgess at to sign up to help.


Hi Houston Band students and families! The last marching practice is just around the corner. We need your help! Please email copies of any band pictures you have over the last four years to for us to share. We need the pictures by Tuesday, October 25th so we can display them for the last practice.

One more favor! Below is a signup genius for candy for all the students to get a candy bag on the 28th. We have around 145 kids sowe need a lot of candy! If you can please help with the candy and bring it into Mr Taylor 's office by Tuesday, October 25th that would be great! Thank you so much guys!


Cookie dough delivery will be Monday, November 7th, from 2:45 - 5:30 PM in the band room.

Just a reminder, the cookie dough will be frozen and it must be picked up on Monday, November 7th, in the band room. If any Adult Volunteers are available to help, please let Amy Burgess know at


Thank you to all the parents who have helped with uniforms this year so far! We could not do it without you! If you haven't had a chance to volunteer, there are several more opportunities coming up! We are a fun group, and it's a great way to get to know the kids!

Our next competition is Bandmasters on Saturday, October 29th. This Saturday we will need volunteers to help with hat wraps and shoe shining at our last competition. Please sign up on the sign up genius if you can!

Right after this competition, please look for another volunteer opportunity to help fit the kids for concert wear. This is a big job and we will need lots of helpers. More info to come.

The Pit Crew needs new members to join and help the kiddos during halftime shows and competitions! The primary responsibility of the Pit Crew is to HAVE FUN! …and help move the front ensemble, or “pit,” onto and off of the field during football games and marching competitions. The Pit Crew also is responsible for building and making props as needed, transportation (truck and UHaul), repairing and maintaining carts and equipment (i.e. painting carts, inflating tires, replacing tires, keeping ladders in operational condition, etc.).

Having a student in the pit is not a requirement to be in the Pit Crew. The Pit Crew is open to all Houston Band parents who wish to join. So please join us! It’s a really cool vantage point to watch the show from (right down on the field) and possibly get a closer look at your son or daughter performing in the process!

We’ve got SUPER FUN volunteer opportunities galore, so no matter what you may be interested in or how much (or how little) time you have, we’ve got a spot for you, and we NEED you! There’s nothing more fun for kids than band – and their families!
