We are in the middle of a busy week here at the Houston Band. We have curriculum night tonight at HHS from 6-8pm. COMMISSARY COUPONS
Coupon Order Forms are DUE TODAY (8/18/2022). If you forgot to send It with your student, please drop it in the wooden box in Mr. Taylor's office when you pick up your child from practice. If you need more time please contact Amy Burgess (burgess3@gmail.com). Remember, we need everyone to sell at least 3 coupons to meet our goal.
CAR WASH TICKETS AND DETAILS
We will hold our Car Was Fundraiser next Saturday (8/27) from 10:00am-2:00pm. We have asked the students to sell 10 tickets each ($100 value), these tickets were sent home with students on Monday 8/15. The money for the car wash tickets is due by Friday (8/26), please send it back in the envelope the tickets were in with your Student's name and "Car Wash" printed clearly on the front. Again, contact Amy Burgess (burgess3@gmail.com) with any questions or concerns.
The section/location that earns the most money will win a Pizza and Movie night in the band room!
There will be several adults on hand at each location, and the students will be supervised the entire time. Students may work the entire event (10-2), but 9th & 12th graders are scheduled from 10-12, while 10th & 11th graders are scheduled from 12-2. Please contact Dr. Hagan with any questions about working the car wash. The locations and work assignments are below:

VARSITY FOOTBALL - 8/19
This Friday will be our first Football Game! The students need to wear their Show-Shirts (these are being distributed today at school), and be seated in the band room ready to warm up by 6:00pm.
Please be sure your child has a flip folder for the football game Friday night. These are available at Lane Music, Amro Music, and on Amazon.

WHILE YOU'RE AT THE FOOTBALL GAME...
JOIN THE PIT CREW
The Pit Crew needs new members to join and help the kiddos during halftime shows and competitions! The primary responsibility of the Pit Crew is to HAVE FUN! …and help move the front ensemble, or “pit,” onto and off of the field during football games and marching competitions. The Pit Crew also is responsible for building and making props as needed, transportation (truck and UHaul), repairing and maintaining carts and equipment (i.e. painting carts, inflating tires, replacing tires, keeping ladders in operational condition, etc.).
Having a student in the pit is not a requirement to be in the Pit Crew. The Pit Crew is open to all Houston Band parents who wish to join. So please join us! It’s a really cool vantage point to watch the show from (right down on the field) and possibly get a closer look at your son or daughter performing in the process!
We’ll be having our first “meeting” this Friday, 8/19/22, at halftime during the game.
