  • Junior Varsity Guard on Wednesdays from 3:00pm to 5:00pm

  • Indoor Percussion on Mondays and Fridays from 3:00pm to 5:30pm

● 9am - Get Uniforms, Meeting in Big Band Room

● 1120am - Warm-Up

● 1210pm - Performance

● 245pm - Arrive at HHS

 

WTSBOA Spring Concert Festival

The Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band are in the final push as we prepare for the annual WTSBOA State Concert Assessment. This event is FRIDAY, MARCH 11th at West Collierville Middle School, and parents are encouraged to attend if at all possible. The Symphonic Band Performs at 10:30 and the Wind Ensemble performs at 12:10.


THIS EVENT IS MANDATORY FOR ALL MEMBERS OF THE WIND ENSEMBLE AND SYMPHONIC BAND.


It has been on the calendar since it was first published (March of 2021), and failure to attend can have an adverse effect on student grades. This is the biggest event of the year for our concert ensembles.

 

Spring Disney Trip


We are excited to announce that Disney has just informed us that we will be performing in the afternoon parade at Magic Kingdom on Friday April 8th. We will release a detailed itinerary closer to the trip date, but here is the current schedule for our trip.


● Wednesday 4/6 - Leave Germantown and travel to Orlando

● Thursday 4/7 - Animal Kingdom

● Friday 4/8 - Magic Kingdom (with an afternoon parade)

● Saturday 4/9 - Hollywood Studios

● Sunday 4/10 - Return from Orlando to Germantown

Houston Band T Shirts for Sale – Theme “Band is Family” – Designs and color to be determined based on submissions. Guildan Soft Style T Shirt with multiple colors and Band Sponsors will be featured on the back. Sizes range from Adult Small to Adult 4 XL

$16 each: S-XL; $19 each: 2XL – 4XL.

To pay online via Paypal, click on the Donate link on the page.


To pay by cash or check, send in payment no later than Thursday March 10th. Payments will be collected from the Band Room on Friday March 11th to place the orders. Please enter T Shirt in the subject line of the check and/or on the envelope along with the band student name.


Online orders and payments will close on Friday March 11th. The plan is for the t-shirts to be in by the end of March and distributed so that they can be worn at Disney if desired.


Order Confirmation –

You will receive a Google Form receipt via email to confirm that your order was placed correctly.


Paypal Confirmation –

You will receive a paypal receipt notification via email to confirm that your payment was sent correctly.


Please feel free to forward the link to family and friends that would like to purchase t-shirts, but please enter the band student that will be picking up the t-shirts.


Children’s sizes may be available by request.

THE HOUSTON BAND BOOSTER DUES

Thank you to the families who have paid HHS band dues in full. All payments should have been received for the 2021-2022 year.


All payments that have been received via PayPal, Wooden Box, and PO Box have been logged/deposited. As a reminder dues are $725 (siblings $100 discount - $625).


Payments can be made by a check payable to The Houston Band Boosters that can be dropped off in the wooden box located in Mr. Taylor's office or mailed to HHS Band Boosters/P.O. Box 38233/Germantown, TN 38183. Payments can also be made via PayPal using the link on the band website (thehoustonband.com) under the members tab/payments. For clarity, please include your student's name with all correspondence and payments.

BAND CALENDAR

Important dates have been updated on the calendar. All dates for rehearsals and performances are mandatory. Be sure to look through and mark them on your family calendar so you can avoid conflicts. https://www.thehoustonband.com/calendar
