Director’s Notes:

  • After School Rehearsals are mandatory for ALL BAND MEMBERS. Failure to attend will have an adverse effect on student grades.

  • All students will need their water bottles and coordinate cards at every outdoor rehearsal.

  • Rehearsals will be complete and your student will be ready to pick up at 5:30pm after rehearsal. All students must be collected no later than 5:50pm.



The students need to wear their Show-Shirts, and be seated in the band room ready to warm up by 6:00pm.

Please be sure your child has a flip folder for the football game Friday night. These are available at Lane Music, Amro Music, and on Amazon.

Cash is still accepted, but the website is now the preferred method!



Support the band and get your car washed, too!

There is still time to buy a car wash ticket for $10.

If you go to the Wolfchase Buffalo Wild Wings for your car wash, be sure to Eat More Wings to take advantage of the Give Back Fundraiser from 11AM to 5PM on Saturday August 27th. The band receives 10% of the sales for anyone who mentions they are with The Houston Band when ordering.

STUDENTS: Bring a water bottle and a snack!

  • Regardless of location:

    • Seniors and Freshman are scheduled to work 10a-12noon.

    • Sophomores and Juniors are scheduled to work 12noon-2p.

  • Locations are determined by your instrument:

    • Woodwinds - Lane Music

    • Brass - Buffalo Wild Wings Wolfchase

    • Color Guard and Percussion - Paragon Bank on Poplar (near the corner of Poplar and Germantown Rd)

  • If you have any old t-shirts, rags, towels, brushes or sponges that you would like to donate for the car wash, please send them in a bag to the band room by Friday.

The group that raises the most money on each of the days will receive a pizza party. Members are encouraged to talk to teachers, office staff, family, and friends to sell tickets. Money is due no later than Monday, August 29th.

Tickets $10 – Goal is 10 per band/guard member for each Car Wash Drive

The Pit Crew needs new members to join and help the kiddos during halftime shows and competitions! The primary responsibility of the Pit Crew is to HAVE FUN! …and help move the front ensemble, or “pit,” onto and off of the field during football games and marching competitions. The Pit Crew also is responsible for building and making props as needed, transportation (truck and UHaul), repairing and maintaining carts and equipment (i.e. painting carts, inflating tires, replacing tires, keeping ladders in operational condition, etc.).

Having a student in the pit is not a requirement to be in the Pit Crew. The Pit Crew is open to all Houston Band parents who wish to join. So please join us! It’s a really cool vantage point to watch the show from (right down on the field) and possibly get a closer look at your son or daughter performing in the process!

We’ll be having our first “meeting” next Friday, 8/19/22, at halftime during the game. Payments can be made by a check payable to The Houston Band Boosters that can be dropped off in the wooden box located in Mr. Taylor's office or mailed to HHS Band Boosters/P.O. We’ve got SUPER FUN volunteer opportunities galore, so no matter what you may be interested in or how much (or how little) time you have, we’ve got a spot for you, and we NEED you! There’s nothing more fun for kids than band – and their families!
