We hope that everyone had a great weekend. We are very proud of our band students for last Friday’s football performance! They did a fantastic job with the middle school band students, the first time out in uniforms, and maintaining focus on the show performance at halftime. Outstanding job, Band!


The week of our first marching contest is finally here! We have a lot of work yet to be done in preparation for the Arlington Open Invitational this Saturday (9/21). Check the itinerary for details about the schedule. Please be sure that we are all present and focused during rehearsals this week. We will be working hard to get the rest of the show on the field. 


This week is going to be VERY HOT (again), so be sure that we are getting enough rest and water. As always, student safety is our primary concern. We will plan rehearsals accordingly and ask that everyone remains flexible as we work through the week.


This Saturday will be in marching band uniforms. The students will need their black member t-shirtlong black socks, and athletic shorts for under their uniform.

Band Booster Dues

Thank you to all who have paid their dues on time and/or in full!  The third payment is now due (September 15th)!


Please work to stay current on these payments as this is how we fund Band Camp and the purchasing of all of the materials/equipment for Band Camp, marching season and concert season.


As a reminder, a minimum of three payments totaling $550 should have been paid for all band members at this time.  The 2019-20 band dues payment schedule is as follows:

May 15th: $200

July 15th: $175

Sept 15th: $175  <— WE ARE HERE!!!

Nov 15th: $175

Student Account balances are available in a spreadsheet in charms.

1.  Log into Charms at www.charmsoffice.com

3.  Use your “Student Area Password” that you share with your student

We know there are a lot of different things going on, but we do that so you can pick and choose which, if any, you want to participate in! There is no requirement, so do one, do none, or do them all! It’s up to you!

We will be hosting the band students from Houston and Riverdale middle schools this Friday at our annual Middle School Band night. Please make every effort to welcome our guests and show them what a great group we have. 


This Friday will also be our first performance in full marching band uniforms. The students will need their black member t-shirtlong black socks, and athletic shorts for under their uniform. We will be distributing the member shirts to the new students this week.


The Arlington Open Invitational is coming up on Saturday, September 21st. We will rehearse at 3:00pm that afternoon. Our performance time that evening will be 8:40pm. We will send a detailed itinerary in next week’s email.

The 2019 ALL-WESTaudition music is now available on the WTSBOA Website. Please print this and begin working on it asap. The January 18th, 2020 audition is mandatoryfor all students enrolled in an Honors Section of band (grades will be based on student performance at this event). Please work to stay current on these payments as this is how we fund Band Camp and purchasing all of the materials and equipment for Band Camp and the early part of the marching season. Late payment notices will be issued this week for all accounts that are past due.  As a reminder, a minimum of two payments totaling $375 should have been received at this point in time.

We hope that everyone had a fantastic Labor Day weekend! We are back and in full swing right away here getting ready for our next Football Game performance this Friday. We are excited about performing more of the show, and gearing up for our first competitive outing on September 21st at the Arlington Open Invitational. 


HUUUUGE THANK YOU to everyone who came out to unload and help build the Stage Prop last week. Special thanks to Susan Boresky for coordinating the work party. We truly appreciate our folks who took time on Saturday afternoon to make this happen. Our students and parents are the best!

THE UNIFORM COMMITTEE NEEDS OUR HELP! Please see the Sign-Up Genius below to help with home games. All of the home games are on one Sign Up Genius. We will be holding our first ever HHS Band Mattress Sale this Saturday 9/7, from 10am-5pm. Please make every attempt to spread the word to all of our friends and families that might be on the lookout for a new mattress. Students will have the opportunity to earn money they can apply to the Spring Trip.
