Indoor Guard

The indoor color guard, also known as Winter Guard, is a subsection of the very successful Houston High marching band. Often known as the Sport of the Arts, Winter Guard builds skills in dance, design, and choreography while presenting a sense of pageantry to its audience.

The indoor season technically begins in November after the marching season ends. Composition, however, for the indoor season actually goes on all year long. Once practices begin in November, the girls practice over 15 hours per week rehearsing their show in preparation for the competition season that runs from January through April. Winter Guard members commit over six weekends in the spring semester for competition.
